Everyone is familiar with the classic Battleship board game. It is a game of strategy where players seek to destroy the opponent’s fleet of ships.

The Battleship game AKA Fleet Seeker is played with two players, each given their fleet of ships. This game is played across four grids. The player with the best strategy and battle plan will win. There are 100 squares the players can choose to place their fleet of ships on. The squares are identified by a number and letter for coordinates. The fleet of boats contains the carrier, taking five grid spaces; the battleship, taking four grid spaces; the cruiser, taking three grid spaces, the submarine, taking three grid spaces and the destroyer, taking two grid spaces.

The objective of the game is to destroy all the opponent’s fleet. When the fleet of ships is in place on the grid, the players will take turns “shooting” missiles by guessing the location of the coordinates. If you hit the boat, a red missile will be inserted into the vertical board to show the ship has been hit. You will insert the white missile into the vertical board if the coordinates are missed. The game is only completed once one player sinks all the opponent’s ships.

Battleship Game dates back to World War I, beginning as a “pencil and pad” game. Milton Bradley released the board game in 1967 as a plastic board game with pegs. The game is still available for play today.
